I’m considering buying a DS7 Crossback but i'm worried about servicing and support. seems like there aren’t many official DS service centers or dealerships around my area, and my closest one is far away, like a couple of hours away.

For owners of DS7, have you encountered issues that couldn’t be handled by a local garage? Like with my current car (a Volvo), there have been rare occasions when the local garage recommended taking it to a Volvo dealership for specific fixes. I’m wondering if the same situation might arise with the DS7 and whether the distance to an official service center could become a hassle.

There are issues that couldn't be handled by a local garage. For example, diagnostics with a computer, or programming. These are jobs for official dealers.

From what I've heard, you can usually take a DS7 to a good independent mechanic for regular stuff like oil changes and brakes, especially if they're used to working on European cars.

But you might run into some trouble with the more complicated stuff. I've heard that some things, like the fancy suspension or the safety systems, might need special tools that only the dealer has. And getting parts can be a bit of a pain sometimes.

You should call the nearest dealer and see what they recommend. Ask them if they have any preferred mechanics or if they offer any kind of pickup/delivery service.

If you're okay with maybe having to drive a bit further for service, and you're not too worried about those special features, the DS7 could be a great car.

It’s good to know that for routine maintenance like oil changes and brakes, a local mechanic familiar with European cars might suffice. I hadn’t thought much about the suspension or safety systems needing specialized tools, but that definitely makes sense. I will call the dealer and ask about preferred mechanics or pickup/delivery services. I’ll give that a shot. 🤷‍♂️

How's your maintenance services going on now?
