I noticed the reintroduced Citroen DS 23 in FH5 is listed under "DS" instead of Citroen, unlike FH4. Kind of odd since the DS sub-brand is way newer. Maybe it's a mistake, or perhaps Citroen wants the DS name to get more shine ahead of future DS models? Or it has something to do with brand agreements?

I'm not entirely sure why PGG has decided to list the DS 23 under DS Automobiles. It's a bit of a head-scratcher considering it was originally a Citroen model. Maybe they're trying to capitalize on the DS heritage and brand recognition, even though it doesn't technically fit. It's the same situation with the old Alpine. It was a standalone brand before Renault bought it, so it doesn't really make sense to list it under Alpine in the game. I guess they're just trying to streamline things and avoid confusion, but it's a bit of a stretch in my opinion.

I'm guessing it's probably some kind of branding thing, or maybe they want to make DS more of a thing, since it's like their luxury brand these days

DS has been its own luxry brand since 2015, so maybe this is them trying to really show they're not just Citroën anymore. Licensing stuff could also be a reason.

Sometimes car companies want their in-game branding to match what they're doing in real life.

Yeah, this kind of thing happens a lot with car brands in racing games. It could definitely be a licensing thing, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if DS wants more visibility as a standalone brand.
