I’m new to the forum and recently bought a 2021 DS 7 Crossback Louvre, so far, I’m absolutely thrilled with it! The car’s design, comfort, and tech features have all been great, but I’ve run into a small issue that’s been bugging me.

The red SOS button near the interior mirror has been flashing continuously. I can’t figure out how to stop it. I’ve gone through the car’s manual and exploring the DS app for some clues. The app mentions that the emergency battery might need replacing? Not sure. I haven’t found any clear instructions or guidance on how to do that.

Is this an issue with the DS 7 Crossback? I’m wondering if it’s something I can fix myself or if it’s best to take it to the dealership. does anyone know what might be causing it or how to resolve it?

I’d really appreciate any tips, or advice, from other owners who have dealt with this before.

The flashing SOS button is usually related to the system’s backup battery. It’s not uncommon for this battery to degrade over time, especially in used cars or if the car sat idle for a while before purchase. Replacing it isn’t typically a DIY job since it’s tucked away near the overhead unit.
